For all you clever students that managed to find this post it is a place holder.  Would be nice to know if you can comment on it.  You might have to register as I received a lot of spam.  If one student comments then I will be sure to update this with useful info and interesting links before Friday.  Thank you!  It was a pleasure sharing with you.

As you can see by the fact that my last post was over a year ago.  This blog thing has yet to capture my attention as a writer.

I just re-checked-out these guys out:http://naoism.com/I got to hang out with these guys when they were in Seattle about 5 years ago.  There stuff is really slick.  What impressed me most about them though, was that I saw them as hosts to part of a film festival or something.  For there first set they just played videos that they collected around the world by the people that they thought were the best in the visual-music field.  That stuff was incredible.

Led Mounting

Basically I have tried silicone vs glue in that order from left to right on the metal mounting unit. Gorrila Glue worked far better than silicone, but I need to make something better for laying the glue and clamping the LEDs.  I also am comparing three different LEDs. There is a 50deg version of all of these that might be better. The specs are…

  • model WP7113F3C (20) — This is the freq. for Wii controllers compare to recomended radioshack part # 276-143
    • 940nm
    • 20 degrees – I need to confirm that my LEDs truly match this spec.
    • 1.2-1.6V
    •  current?-
      • Results of experiments-  The unibrain doesn’t see this as well in general, I am going to try it with the wiimote as it might be better than the actual.
  • model WP7113SF6C
    • 860nm
    • 20 degrees
    • 1.35-1.6V
    • Current? max 50mz? So a 16-20ma resistor is good
    •  test result – this is the best thru the bandpass filter
    • -I believe these are the ones I used in the mount I made with Ben
  • model WP7113SF7C  (10)- (I believe these are the ones I still have clustered to the board.)
    • 20 degrees
    • 850nm
    • 1.4-1.6V
    • Current?
  • IR-Cutoff Filter
    • specs
  • Band Pass filter
    • specs

I should put relevant media here.

They have a great video of many gigs they were commisioned to help out with.  I wonder how many people are involved in the company and what the structure is.
